Pretty much every human achievement has been contingent on our ability to cooperate.
right. this may sound like some profound statement but really its not. we have the ability to cooperate. so does most other species. im not sure how this is relevant to the thread. we don't live in the stone age
nowadays nice achievement is made by mass civil disobedience and protesting state authority
That perspective might hold for someone living in Hong Kong, but in most stable societies cooperation is the greater cause of good.
As for the argument that we're no longer reliant on each other to survive, that's batshit crazy coming from someone using a computer to access the internet to make that claim. Unless you're living an authentic Unabomber-in-the-woods type existence, it's delusional. The roads you drive on, the electricity to your house, the money you use to buy things, your internet plan, the doctor that delivered you in a hospital etc etc... There's hundreds of examples of cooperation every day.
he said not as much reliant.. we live in complex societies. with a material wealth of 10 times that of which humans need to survive. it depends on what your values are. I could care less about the quality of roads
Idk where you live, but I've driven on roads that have destroyed my car before lol. Roads need to meet a minimum standard of maintenance to be even usable, which requires other people and money.
You can't do anything worth doing, or go anywhere worth going without conforming to social norms. If I wanna visit Norway, I've gotta jump through social conformity hoops to get there; line up for the TSA, walk through the airport scanner, stay seated while the seatbelt light is on etc etc
Chimping out and throwing a fit in a queue, or on a plane, or when you have to pay taxes gets you nowhere fast. That's some adolescent bullshit. Conform and it pays off.
