Can we ditch the military clock and use 12 hour clock in chat and in threads?

I can't read that clock.

I'm tired of googling am and pm. This is some english crap. My language has only military time.
An option to switch between the two is possible tho.
A coming before P in the alphabet as an easy way to remember the order for which is which, and PM just means subtracting 12 from the military time hour's total.
It's a much faster read when you can already basically tell "day" and "night" by just looking outside. Military time is mostly good for saving a few syllables in speech and characters in notation, but for actual processing of the time, having it be two sets of base 12, I'd argue, is easier on the mind than a single 24 set.
Thing is most of Europe do military time by default. The am/pm split, while simple, is still an annoyance imo.
Best way is to give people the option to choose for themselves. Same with using "X hours ago" instead of precise timestamps.
I mean it's a good compromise, but this seems similar to the US justifying their backwards system of measurement in lieu of the vastly superior Metric System.

I see it as the US justifying their backwards system of PM and AM lol
edit: as long as i have a hand in the code, there will be military time. there might be pm/am too, but there will be military time.

What's wrong with the AM/PM system beyond a lack of personal familiarity?

It is more complex, i have to calculate what pm/am means and then i have to add or remove 12 hours.
