I think someone else asked for this before, but could there be a daily limit on an accounts ability to create topics? 

I think as a passive deterrent it'll slow down much of the problem if a reasonable number can be decided on, and from a spammer standpoint they'd need to waste time creating multiple accounts to even try to flood the place. It'd even stop a bot script from spamming on single accounts. 

If the variable could be adjusted with ease, us having picked a number too great or too small could be changed quickly.

I don't think any "limits" should be put on any of us. I can think of many instances when someone might need to post more in a day, without it being against the spirit of SC.

If you decide to have a limit, it can easily be done.

Ed, be realistic. How many topics do you make in a day? Not posts, topics. 

If we can set up a system that can deal with Cawk passively (without going as insane as Captcha and shit), then it'll be able to deal with other spammers equally so.
