yeah and yeah. i just power through it. hindsight isnt helpful to me, the feeling remains even when i know it isnt grounded. but like tryptamine said its pointless. the worst parts of this world are negative feedback loops. they say your personality may take an extreme turn if you get alzheimers or something. being a paranoid old man sounds funny

Hindsight is only unhelpful for those who'd prefer to run away from their problems.

wait... I misread... yes I am not disagreeding with you heh
I always found paranoia a bit strange. I also think it's like how chai described it, it's overactive pattern recognition that probably has a lot to do with dopamine.
I used to work with this woman that would talk about how the CIA was doing shit with aliens and the FBI were sending coded messages and stuff. She still did her job so no one gave a shit, but I was just wondering how something like that could persist in a functional person. There must be so many mental gymnastics going on.
You don't think of yourself as paranoid?

You're ignoring context. He didn't make a generalized statement about hindsight, he was referring to paranoia specifically. On which I agree with him. Knowing better doesn't necessarily feel better.
