I used to like his show as a teen, and I'm embarrassed at myself. "I think we were all there when the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic. Prior to that, it was a legume." You got the whole nursing home cracking up with that one, Stephen. The man's bread and butter is snarky quips and pandering to the sensibilities of liberals. You'll never find him having a spine and criticizing his own side, unless it's politically conventional. Fuck this faggot.
Daily show is funny even with Trevor Noah sometimes. Colbert really not that good after he quit colbert report. Which was really funny sometimes. John Oliver is also kinda funny sometimes
Some of these shows are almost just as liberal as the most liberal propaganda youtube news shows. so may be worth watching every now and then.
I haven't seen much of Trevor Noah. John Oliver is obnoxious to me. Colbert Report was funny to me at the time, and I'd even say the interviews were good.
These people are all basically offshoots of Jon Stewart, it is what it is. Jon on his way out was basically saying "Fox is blatantly playing partisan politics, left should be playing dirty like they do." And I think everyone who was associated with him take that sentiment seriously. Stewart was a lot more down to Earth than these guys, though. He was blatantly liberal, but at least he could take shots on his own side. These other guys are cowards and sycophants.

His show peaked in 2004-05 according to my brother and got worse since like 2010. That's about the time I started viewing episodes.
Fox is the easiest and most popular news channel to make fun of. He never called himself a liberal did he ? only right wingers and some liberals do. these shows are all liberal propaganda though

He was better when he wasn't trying to be himself, now he's downgraded to the path of Leno.
I can see why this was enough to signal John Stewart quitting.

I don't really like his smug energy, nor how much his eyes are usually laughing at his own jokes. The delivery's all wrong and it robs what few of his jokes are actually funny.

Different audience, different writers.
It's like turning Woody Woodpecker into Droopy the Dog.
John Oliver is also kinda funny sometimes
Agreed, his material's on point and his deliveries of mock-outrage contribute to the performance.
"Last Week Tonight" is a good premise too in that he can give a more researched opinion instead of just headliners, allowing for as much pre-research as SNL or South Park but with scholarly aims.

It's not that different from 9/11 propaganda imo, save for the censor being crowdfunded.

Are you implying that a liberal can't normally be down to earth?
My favorite material from John's his appearances on Fox News:
He didn't just throw down on his own show, he went to theirs as well to fight on their home front with a sense of honor and wit. He also went hard even on liberal networks:
Also take into account colbert report was entirely differently crafted. The budget was crazy, they had like a week of prep for each episode etc. Now it is a completely different concept and budgeet etc. It is unfair to compare it
It was co-opted with Daily Show so that the two could throw mock-punches at each other.
Both shows involved both John and Colbert working together, it's not as quick or biting now.
