You're pretty much complaining about Supersaturation, the dystopian practice of "More-Is-More".
you know what's not toxic though? is just doing something because you enjoy it.
like, i enjoy makeup. the beauty commnuity got a little wild on us-
but, that's beside the point.
there are a lot of people who just enjoy makeup and don't 'play the youtube game' like a 'sport' tying to win. they just do it for fun.
antoher GREAT example is people who help you make your life better or feel a sense of connection.
lke they add something to the commnuity and the world, rather than taking away from it.
for example cleaning channels. they motivate thousands of people to clean. cleaning channels are great, if you just need that boost of motivation. or like, blogs that teach you how to organize your shit. extremely helpful for getting out of a rut.
i feel like, the makeup community on youtube, it was supposed to be about community. 'community'
like that's what youtube is. it's a community, for lots of little communities. right?
and we can enjoy that.
but like, at some points it crosses over into like,
and things just get a lil crazy
you know what's not toxic though? is just doing something because you enjoy it.

Yeah that shit's straight toxic.
this one is the saddest story here.
"YouTube created a viral child star with a bright future. Now the internet is exploiting her as she's unraveling in front of millions."
