Film Club - 2 - Sociopath Community

this movie was actually extremely overwhelming to me and it goes into a level of intensity that is a little bit difficult to endure.

im just warning you now, this movie isn’t *pleasant* and by the end of it you may feel completely exhausted if you’re the kind of person who gets really wrapped up in a movie and feels it.

it takes you through a more accurate depiction of war from a first hand experience as if you are inside it, experiencing it. And it’s not just a few minutes, it’s like being attacked from all sides at a very high level of intensity for very prolonged periods. It’s very intense... more so than any military movie I’ve watched.

it’s closer to accurate but because of that it is almost hard to watch, and they don’t spare details simply because it is too difficult or sad for the audience to want to watch. This is a real story, and they are depicting what really Happened and to honor these men respectfully I think the film makers had to make sure it was accurate or otherwise it’s doing them a disservice. To sugar coat or leave things out, and not show the true severity of what they lost their lives to.

it is about a real tragedy, a mistake on the military’s part that cost these men their lives but were still brave enough to follow orders and stick it through despite being in a completely futile position. They were assigned a suicide mission, essentially.

So I’m just warning you now, it is truly a tragedy and is not going to leave you feeling good and warm and fuzzy. I was quite distraught after watching it.

But if you want a film that is more real and raw and makes you really feel something real. This will do that. But it packs a punch.

The whole time you just want it to stop but it won’t stop. That’s kind of the point so you’re immersed in the hell they experienced, and you experience it too.

Just know it is a pure depiction of what hell is like. It is true hell. I remember watching it and at one point as they were getting their asses handed to them I just said, “this is what true hell looks like, This is hell.” to the people I was watching it with.

Not for the faint of heart. You find yourself suffering through it.
