I wouldn't go with anybody from SC. I'd get back in touch with an old friend from Toronto and give him the location of the shipping container I'd be holed up in, just in case he wants to pay me a visit.
I'd do my best to keep my family together, but am not expecting any miracles. My daughter would have to figure out how to travel 300 miles to get to me, plus 200 more after she gets here (bc I'd want to go somewhere less densely populated than where I am, now.) And I'm not holding my breath. She may consider me dead weight at this point. She might also know of a much better off grid and semi zombie proof location closer to where she is.
I would do my best to get one last email or other electronic message to her, to let her know where I'm going.
Other than that, I would assume that it would just be me and my son. At least until he does smthg autistic and gets himself (or both of us) killed.
I'm no stranger to living rough, so I'm sure I'd do ok if there are no zombies and only bands of looting Americans to worry about lol
