I'm not in the US but my paternal line goes back to the Kingdom of Dalriata which comprised of South West Scotland (and its Islands) plus the North East of Ireland.
According to the Irish Annals and the Declaration of Arbroath - the Dalriatans came by way of Egypt, Canaan, Scythia then Spain before defeating the native Irish, then hoping over the sea and settling in Scotland.
The tribe were called the Scotti, which later gave its name to Scotland. They were apparently named after an18th dynasty "Egyptian" King's daughter called Meritaten, who also went by the name Scota.
The King was called Akhenaten and his paternal line is haplogroup R1b, which is found today at a high frequency in Ireland, Scotland, Wales and parts of the Iberian peninsula.
Akhenaten is believed to be the real life biblical Moses by many and those who fled to Scotland via Canaan, Scythia, Spain... were one of the 10 lost tribes.
So if all this is true - it kind of makes me a Jew XD
