The only thing to do there is watch as it decays and explore abandoned buildings. For all that i was like "i just wanna live in the countryside-" whining, i love city convenience and being able to walk a few minutes to my local 7-11 and walmart and buy cheetos or shrimp chips

It's a lot anywhere else. People who live in cali are paying for the luxury of living in cali. CS's money would go a lot further in Maryland or Ohio. Other than living in like gang-desteoyed southern LA, living in Cali and not being homeless is itself a privledge.
