In my opinion I think you want them to think you are cause it brings you joy.

It's a difference that, while slim here, is much broader in places that aren't connected as blatantly towards the problem. If I say 'vaffanculo' to you, you will not feel nearly as insulted (even after you've found out what it means) as if you spoke the language and lived the culture from it not hitting as close to home. If I were to call you a Schmendrick, you would not give two shits either.
It's about context, and culture's a big one. There's tons of insulting words we don't even know from them meaning nothing to us, and our discovery of them would simply serve as novelty until we're somewhere that it can't otherwise be expressed.
The word nigger I don't mind. I've sat at a table or other gatherings with racists. Another time a friend of a friend who was a Nazi. We laughed and made jokes by pushing back at one another. It was fun. Down the road I see them asking about me. I find things take an interesting turn when we accept others being racist, when we don't accept, it then becomes an entanglement, like what a typical black person online would think of Xadem.

Personally I don't trust Indians. I noticed how there are Indians that understand why they are not trusted and it has to do with Indian scammers dialing up people accross the globe trying to scam money. I do appreciate Indians who denounce those who give them a bad name.

China isn't exactly the nation you want to see leading humanity. A democratic nation is preferable for that position.If they become the number 1 economy, then it'll be a matter of time before they become the most powerful. Meanwhile the US will be in debt and dying, their military will shrink along with US population.
China owns 10% of US debt which is the largest slice of that pie. They have also been modifying Hollywood content to be more suitable to their will, which is just 1 step to their owning the US.
Even China hates China, people killing themselves to get the hell out of there.

Something like that will make Canada more congested. Maybe Canada or Europe will rise, but not in this lifetime so I'd rather it not go that way.
When it comes to the bullshit news and politics, at least that's being confronted in the US. In China they will punish opposition. I know a lot of Chinese people, the internet there is highly censored. There is something they call crazy making ( something of that nature ) If someone accuses you of saying something unbelievable, you can get locked up.

It's not actually like I am focused on race—I don't even think we've ever had a serious discussion about it in the 5 years or more that we've known each other. Not a important topic. I think people conflate offensive humor/shock value with actual opinions. It's a bad time to be an edgelord.

It's an understandable conflation though, when lots of people use humor to mask or justify genuine opinions. I've seen "it's just a meme guyz" turn into something much darker in private, many times.
Also, personally, I think if someone is going to use humor that intentionally strikes at a sensitivity, they should at least be vaguely aware of the nature of that sensitivity. Shouting NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER and then saying you don't think about race.... does paint a certain picture. lol
