I hate animals.
I live with 2 dogs and my mother and sister act like I'm kicking the dogs every chance I get because I refuse to pet them while they are barking, whereas they reinforce the barking with attention leading them to believe the more they bark the more attention they'll get (which I suppose is true, just not from me).
I fucking hate one dog in particular because it has barking fits when it wakes up, when it shits, when it's thirsty, when it's bored.
The dog sits on the couch and kicks you if you're not petting it. It just behaves in ways that make me angry -- to the point it affects any work I'm doing, my train of thought, and I eventually get really pissed off because the fucking dog wont shut the fuck up. I take twice as much valium day to day with dogs these dogs around me as I do when I'm staying the night at a friends, which is very problematic considering how much I am supposed to take every day (10mg 2x a day. I'm not scripted 120 valium a month
I had a dog I loved once when I was a child. He never barked, just sneezed. never needed anything from me, but I gave him the world.

My sister had a screaming fit because I didn't wake up when the dog was having it's morning screaming fit to go outside. "WHY DIDNT YOU LET THE DOG OUT?" "BECAUSE I WAS ASLEEP YOU RANCID CUNT AND I NEED 6 MORE HOURS".

I think this depends on your definition of innocence. For instance, one could mean it as the purity of being more one with nature and base patterns of survival. The convolution of man could easily be seen as something corrupt.
In some cases it goes further, such as neoteny. The brain of dogs has been shown to be comparable to that of humans with Williams Syndrome. WS is the disorder that's responsible for the overly happy type of retard, the smiley, needy kind that constantly want hugs and crave other people's happiness and approval, even other people who are shitty to them. Dogs are, in a sense, a fundamentally well meaning species. Which is quite an extraordinary thing in nature.
However, personally, I like that animals aren't innocent. At least the type of innocence you seem to have in mind. Many species have depth, complexity, and variety. Which naturally means they can be shitty people too. lol But why would we want all animals to be dogs? The traditional idea of innocence is pretty vapid and boring. I respect and care for animals more because they have the capacity to be "bad".
