My favorite thing in the age of Trump is the inversion of opinion he creates in the minds of his opposition.
For months liberals have been harping against conservatives calling them conspiracy theorists when it comes to covid. Suddenly Trump gets Covid-19 and hashtags related to trump faking his diagnosis etc trends and you see tweet after tweet and reddit post after reddit post.
The same sort of inversion occurred with vaccines, Trump has been pushing this vaccine constantly (lol really every time the market gets shaky) and liberals, whom attacked crazy right winged people, start speaking about the ineffectiveness and dangers of vaccines.
That's implying he's innocent in creating the extreme opinions against him. Trump has antagonized his opposition for years, which is fine if you to simply want to exert your will over your opposition. The problem is when your will doesn't represent the views or values of the majority of the populus. Politics is the fine art of diplomacy and compromise. Trump has never been diplomatic and he has willfully lied to meet his own agenda. For those not wrapped up in his cult, anything he says will be dismissed for the lack of credibility his administration has delivered. It's now just a numbers game. Has he managed to convince the majority that what he is selling is credible or has he just solidified a cult following that doesn't represent modern views? The polls show a potential landslide.

This has been true for a while, at least during my lifetime since Bill Clinton. I'd say what makes Trump more noteworthy here is over it being a multi-faceted complaint, a Hydra-issue, as opposed to focusing it all on one or two things solely.
It's essentially so spread thin that it goes nowhere and is easy to counter with assuming they're "reaching".

While I do think he got the disease and is otherwise just trying to diminish it's perceptions, I can see where the "faking it" idea is coming from: If he fakes the disease and pulls through it with confidence, he could feasibly lower the amount of Covid Panic and further push towards his pious worship of The Economy.
Considering that his leadership style's consistently aimed to have his people feel unafraid by hiding "the dangers" from them, this fits the bill.

Context has a lot to do with how people's arguments are flipping, but I do agree that how many degrees of separation from being the one who actually did the research can have a way of streamlining spin towards the everyman.
The government is responding to the people (even training them on the event that ANTIFA attacks the white house more directly), so the people adapting towards their adapting makes sense doesn't it? This is the information age, and what we're seeing is information guerrilla warfare.

The attacks from the left are basically that the president is unfit to know what is going on. But the research is being conducted by health care officials, not the president. Should how he's unfit to lead not be brought up?
He shows crystal clear signs of mental disorder that's otherwise only contradicted by how seemingly well he's doing (a product of his environment), and we even have decades of footage we can use to build both a case and a timeline. He has otherwise expressed clear confusion unbefitting of a president where others have had to compensate for it.
When people like Trump are made to be president, it shows us how much of the work isn't really in the president's hands, which does serve to undermine the position.
