It’s about enhancing a bit what you have but honestly it doesn’t make people more beautiful most of the time like

cosmetic procedures are for beautification but makeup is just decoration on top of that like sprinkles or an accessory

and looks are just like defining your style mood at that moment lol like

it makes you get into that mood more cuz ur like “I feel pink and girly today” so you put on light blush cheeks and pink eyeshadow and you get to feel pink and girl the way you feel on the inside

and same goes for any particular thing you feel on the inside you can put that on the outside with makeup

like it makes me feel more confident knowing I have on a model glam look because then I feel like a model?

and other times it’s about feeling cute

and then other times it’s about like, how good can I do makeup and it’s like something you enjoy just like painting a canvas or anything else

it also helps you feel ready and put together at the most basic level so like

before you look tired and worn out but then you put that shit on and you look awake and ready to conquer the day

for some people it’s just about like how they feel they look on the inside they want to look that way on the outside too so people see them as the them they want to portray themselves as and they feel they really are

for some people it’s about looking younger or older, sexier, whatever they’re going for, whatever they want to attract.

sometimes they just want to be beautiful yes but it’s also so much more than that

Qlso it’s fun and like stimulating and some say it’s calming others use it to cope with depression etc. so like it’s a pick me up or a dopamine hit

especially when the products and marketing are designed to sort of make you feel a certain way when you buy it it’s like controlling your mood or complimenting it or your desires and fulfilling needs etc

some people just love a glam life style or a Barbie pink life style or a goth life style etc and this allows them to be that life they want to create for themselves and that image like

I just like sparkly and colorful things and like, shit that smells good. Some people are addicted to the packaging.

I think it’s fun to review makeup and try new things it’s creatively stimulating, it appeals to the senses.

skin care and makeup is like a form of self care for some people so it can be mood stabilizing or mood boosting in the way.

and also of course, to look good for pics at events and dates and Instagram is a huge reason people are into it like.

praxtical reasons. To look decent at work for an employer. To conceal imperfections or insecurities.

Got all my items in except the lime crime brow pens but I checked the tracking they are in transit. Could be here any moment.

I was disappointed by this months boxycharm premium. And though I am subscribed to both regular boxycharm and boxy premium I only received the premium box.

there was not a single item in it that I wanted.

the really good deals in the charm room and ad ons section sort of make up for it but

I dunno, I wish I could just pick all the items I wanted in my box??

anyways, all the other shipments have got in so I guess I should go ahead and review all the items. I did play with them all

Victoria’s Secret perfume- first love

I have to admit I am in love with this perfume. It’s not as strong and long lasting as Chanel or other high ends but it still does smell really good and is noticeable. I’m just going through it really quick because of that.

at first it’s a little sterile, and then over time as it melts with tour skin chemistry it really warms up and turns into this fresh but sweet decadent fragrance.

it smells very clean and sort of girly but without being extremely sweet. It’s just sort of Like a welcoming fresh garden like, it’s heavenly I’m not gonna lie. So good.

It’s def my go to fragrance right now and I take it with me everywhere. Put it on every morning. obsessed.

Pat magrath foundation

its so beautiful. I could rave about what makes it good for hours but it’s just detailed things and precision in the formula that you will notice if you’re a makeup person.

oh wow. Ahah that’s all I have to say is just wow. And how? Like it seems to be a foundation kissed by god. It does the impossible.
While still looking completely natural.

redifines the your skin but better category for sure.
I don’t think I’m interested in using any other foundation after this.

it doesn’t transfer or slide off, or move either. At all.

it just looks gorgeous. I was really shocked.

I thought it was over hyped and over priced but no. It’s not. It really is that good. There just simply isn’t a better foundation on the market.

Dior Highlight / Blush palettes

well, I wanted to order the contour palette and then it sold out literally as I was moving it from basket to check out so that's frustrating but.

I got both the highlight palettes, one is universal and one isn't I guess?

And it does look really natural and pretty, it's just not blinding. I love the palettes they are gorgeous, but it's definitely a more subtle pretty, fresh glow that genuinely tricks the eye into thinking those portions of the face are higher or more prominent than they are. Without looking greasy, shiny, or unnatural.

It doesn't "sit ontop of the skin" or emphasize texture oddly, it blends and melts perfectly it's not like a strip of highlight powder. And there is a sublte sparkle in it which you can see in the pan but, not on your face.

It looks beautiful with flash photography in particular, I'd say that's where it shines best is in photos. Which makes it perfect for model glam makeup or, out door shoots.

I'll definitely be getting good use out of these and they're my new fave for sure.

It would be interesting to see a series just on lashes because theres so many small lash brands out there that look worth trying out and, it'd be fun to sort of compare them to high end and, find out who has the best lashes :P

i bet it would be eye opening to see you don't have to pay high end prices to get a really good lash. just saying, and it would give small businesses tons of exposure.

it would have to come from an educated approach about what works best for all the different eye types, face shapes etc.

obviously there is the option of glueing on indidividual lashes or getting lash extensions but, it's not for everyone. so every now and then could throw in videos about this topic too but.

yeah i'm seeing a lot of small lash businesses winding up very successful just from twitter and or instagram marketing- or youtube channels that have their own companies and. i'm so curious to try them all out?

i've tried a lot of "commercial" lash brands already and I'm not going to lie, i'm dissapointed by them for various reasons and I feel like this is somethign I should share and get the word out about- and these indie lash brands are really impressing me and seem to be, not only the better deal but also the more, comfortable, wearable, like- beautiful lashes that know what their consumers actually want...

thats the tea sis.

No man, makeup is further into beautification than most of the beauty standard (barring shit like surgery). It's not "sprikles", there's people straight up transforming their faces over it. It by design sells a false sense of self, but through that capacity it's become the expectation, the norm. I've straight up seen men act like a woman without makeup is obscene.

To the insecure, it's the same fearful inclinations that have people act polite like there's a gun to their heads.

sometimes they just want to be beautiful yes but it’s also so much more than that

It's typically about beauty unless you're Halloweening yourself up, and I'm not saying that as someone who's above it. It's more about why they want to pretty themselves up than the fact that they're doing it, as it's not just aesthetic... it's culturally expected at this point.

It's a bandage that furthers the problem, and the longer you spend looking at the makeup mask instead of your face, the less you'll find yourself identifying with your "uglier" look.

I'm not any better, I just bought myself an Epilator over how I can't stop compulsively tweezing my hairs off:

I'm not above the beauty standard, I'm just stating it like it is. It's an industry meant to make you self-shame your aesthetic until you've burnt holes into your pockets over a culturally ingrained, reinforced idea of beauty that is entirely constructed over aesthetic Neoteny. It's the same shit at it's core as why Lolis are trending.

I just like sparkly and colorful things and like, shit that smells good. Some people are addicted to the packaging.

Nah man, you're a part of the system, and you're in it deep.

It's compulsory, you couldn't stop at this point if you wanted to and calling it meditative or capable of steering your feelings is you effectively accepting the conditioning aloud.

To look decent at work for an employer. To conceal imperfections or insecurities.

There it is, where it stops being art and starts being about function.

@12:35 to see the results

in conclusion, dyson air wrap is a success but how long does it take, how much effort is it, and, is it easy or hard

i also can’t help but wonder, is it a gimmick?

Is it less damaging or more damaging?

Do the curls last longer the same or less duration than regular?

It looks really pretty and I’ve always loved the look of soft bouncy curls like this. depending on the hair type tho determines the look this dyson will give you

where as with traditional hot tools you can adjust to the head you need to get the look you desire for your hair type or use hot rollers

I’m interested but I’ll have to ask my professional hair people is this more damaging or the same or what like long term

I don’t put heat on my hair ever so. I kind of want to maintain like healthy scalp healthy ends healthy hair vibes as best I can since you know, you only get one head of hair I mean.

but this would be super great to use on wigs if it doesn’t ruin the hair. 👌
