I'm well-loved by those around me, despite my flaws. Do you really think I'm "terrorizing" my grandmother when I offer to cook dinner for the family because she's too weak from chemo to do it herself? But go ahead, act like you know something.

Yeah when your grandma has to call the police because you threaten to take her card to go buy booze? I would call that terrorizing her. When you're screeching at strangers on line at all hours of the night you're probably terrorizing her then too

Yeah, arguing with someone and actually not doing anything is total terrorism.

Now Tryp, I'm sure you understand how saying these things is liable to lead to others trying to control your behaviors. If you want us to be able to help you, you'll have to actually help us help you, we can't do it all by ourselves.

Now I understand how being a nag can actually contribute towards your drinking, but at the same time if I do nothing I'm also enabling your drinking. I also see my talking down to you right now as a potential risk of belittling your stance, yet another homing beacon towards your nearest bottle, but by the end of this we aren't really left with many options beyond having to break some rules in the hopes of it saving you. I hope you don't take this as a threat or anything, I'm really trying to find how to speak towards you in a way that won't just have you kill yourself.

Past a point, any choice made is liable to fall into one of the five things to not do.

Right, you're quoting things from the original post. I get it. I don't feel like you're saying anything of substance, but you did manage to incorporate all of those points.

Please don't make me belittle you by explaining the joke like you're five.

If they did nothing in response to your abhorrent behavior, you'd probably have boozed yourself into yet another coma.

Edit: Oh my bad, this probably constitutes nagging or controlling. I'm really going to have to work on this.

Yeah threatening to do something and causing them to fear or feel anxious enough to call the police would qualify I would say

Considering the state of their health, him doing things like this could be putting them in danger, too.

If they know how much he's drinking (and about the sleeping pills), then they must be carrying a burdensome weight over this.

Apparently people who have known me my whole life actually know what I would or would not do.

Has your grandma not known you most of your life? Her taking action would mean she felt the threat was credible enough that she did call
