lol this bitch
but like ya it's true, every celebrity is basically being cancelled for this or that reason these days
I'm for it, everyone should be their own celebrity and stan themselves fr fr
It'll never crumble. As long as there's somebody saying or doing something interesting or contraversial people will eat it up. Just look at the success of the Youtube channel DramaAlert. Celebrity culture is alive and well on the internet. But the celebrities are becoming more online based, such as YouTubers.
The singer and the actress aren't really "in" anyway these days. Cable TV, record labeling, big studio movies, even big media.... it's all beginning to decentralize due to the internet and people don't care as much. And music online is really a different beast entirely. In fact, some music genres online had a common theme of anonymity and nobody even knew who the producers were. I see some cults of personality in certain Youtubers, like Jake Paul and Logan Paul. However their fans are children.
COVID was a major wakeup call and slap in the face that all these narcissistic self-centered retards most of us had been worshipping truly are retards, and that most our money had been going to entertainment and status symbols when it really should have been spent on advancing healthcare, science, decreasing of suffering for people and animals worldwide and decreasing and reversing the environmental damage we caused through our carelessness and desire to feel that we are invincible and immaculate
Didn't watch the video of the boring shiny person, but as a general point you'd have to be crazy to not notice the increase in fascist trends and cult of personality themes.
Celebrity culture will never die, it itself will adapt while casting out it's eldest.
Celebrity culture is dyinf because anyone can be a celebrity on the internet.
That's not death, that's evolution.
If anything it means an increase in competition.
The mass popularity of movie stars and rock stars is being replaced by micro-influencers and youtubers.
Have you seen how hard it is to do that shit? There's an entire process to it all that keeps it in motion.
