It seems more like you find it easier to do things than to live with them, in general. This tends to be the case for people who don't have a strong sense of themselves and the things they want out of life.
You ought to work on your sense of pre-empting instead of just how you handle it after the fact.

You're probably facing regret considering your Grandfather might consider cutting you off his will. If anything he maybe bewildered with what you've done, so if you talk to him he'll be open to listening, and not just saying sorry, but tell him it's something stupid you've done in your youth and you never thought it would hurt anyone. If you say you even never intended to put it back, he'll take everything else you say literally. You might imagine how far the genuine truth will take you.
Start doing chores, restore his home to the best condition you can and run errands for him, and let the family know you're doing it out of shame. This event will make you cringe for the rest of your life.
As for Jim and Slay, yes cut them off. You're empathetic and will become like the people within your proximity, while those 2 asses lives are filled with countless calamities, which includes losing friends and family, and people who are key to living a more prosperous lifestyle.
