I prefer the people who refer to them as "Emotional Vampires", or Psychic ones.

We must stay vigilant.

How to tell someone is a narcissist

praise them and then watch how they start to react when you stop completely or do the opposite. Watch the insecurity eat them alive or them lose interest in you because you’re aren’t their pet anymore. Or Watch them try to win you back in odd ways.

how they handle rejection or conflict is a dead give away as well usually if they’re lower functioning

Bullshit, many of them will throw someone away if they start to show too much power over their situation as part of their coping.

What gives them away:

a) Pecking Order logic: When harmed, they will strike at who they think is lower than they are. Much like I went on about towards BR, it helps them see that they aren't "the worst", and is why they fall onto Ad Hominem attacks. They have no idea what their own value is, but they don't want to look weak, so instead of finding their own worth they just focus on being "better" than other people.

b) Birth Time: When they're born can somewhat impact narcissistic tendencies. People born in summer are more likely to express disconnectedly self-driven motivations, and those in the center of each season tend to be more stubborn. Naturally narcs can be born at other times out of other motivations, but there's a notable cluster of them around there.
