MY MISSION TO LEARN LATIN
LATIN IS THE KEY TO LOGIC, AND WISDOM! LATIN IS THE KEY TO THE ANCIENT WORLD
LATIN SHALL ENVELOPE ALL
LATIN IS DIVVS
LEARN IT WITH ME, WE CAN BECOME BETTER
I SHALL BRING PAX, LIBERTAS, FORTVNA,IVSTVM AND SECVRITAS TO MY NEW IMPERIVM!
No, but seriously. I have a dream to learn latin, and I'm going to put more focus in disciplining myself to achieve time management skills. I am getting a job, and I want to start my path towards learning Latin in the summer, and hopefully, when I go back to college. I should be able to set aside time to continue my education of Latin. I plan on playing around with Python, the computer language.
Plus, since people aren't that familiar with Latin, you could probably very easily form a cult by speaking a tongue that people might vaguely understand and you could insert some bs about how you're a prophet and garner a following. IDK

Learn Greek and Latin, both will open you up to nearly all Western knowledge up to the 18th century.
For Greek I recommend Learning Greek with Plato which covers Attic, from there you can pick up Koine which is less rich but still historically important as it opens you up to Eastern biblical culture and philosophy.
Depending on how good I get with time management, considering Latin is going to help with language aquisition. I plan on focusing Latin first, then once I develop enough of a control over it, then I will start branching out into other languages. Greek will definitely be the second I focus, since as you said. Will open up more of Western Knowledge.
I'm currently seeking out various methods, and different latin speaking youtubers, but I am going to read the LINGVA LATINA PER SE ILLVSTRATA I FAMILIA ROMANA
I noticed looking at some of it, I can understand what it's saying, which is really interesting. I want to buy the book in physical form though, just so that I can keep it, and I find it easier to read when something is in physical form. I also want to buy other books by Hans Ørberg in regards to Latin. Plus, if I have the books, I can re-read them, and also potentially help others on the same quest. My only concern is getting pronunciation down, but I think I should be fine. I'd like to be able to chat with others in Latin, but I'm not certain if I'll get to that point. I'll have to see.
why learn a useless language like latin? must be to seem intellectual
i'd rather learn a widely spoken language
Latin has descendants like Italian, French, Spanish, and Romanian. Spanish is widely spoken, and learning Latin would help you learn Spanish, and understand English better. Plus, Latin opens up the world of more ancient texts and history to draw ideas from, or to learn what not to do. In general, I think it'd be more beneficial than not.
