Same, but a lot of writers tend to not find their groove for a bit. Do that with Avatar the Last Airbender and it looks like trash, or with Stein's Gate and it looks like an entirely different genre of show. 

If I didn't have Rick & Morty referencing it and like two friends recommending it I wouldn't think this show was worth the time this far in. It gives that "there must be something there" bait.

 I actually enjoyed the beginning/opening for avatar with how not serious the protagonist/aang was about it tbh
