I failed to see the humor in the movie. It was just bad... But it didn't do a terrible job at seeming plausible.
I found it interesting how they aimed to demonstrate this sort of character in a sympathetic light instead of one of blatant mockery. They'd present the traits people mock from figures like Cuck Spartan, but instead of a clown they presented a victim.
The film is likely to be perceived differently once the details of it become less current. Being easily led around and a disturbed mama's boy shut in is more related to his character than the politics that framed it, that gave him an outlet.
