I should also mention the occult and black magic/sorcery runs in my family especially on my dad's side starting a couple generations back and who knows how many generations preceding the ones I'm aware of.....so ya I'm not the first in my family to feel a draw towards witchcraft

Someone I dated's mother was half-way towards being one of those... Jeez, it's nuts to imagine someone twice as far down the path.
You say that like it's a bad thing...
What had you go into it so forwardly? Most I've seen in relation to Wicca are either people dabbling as a wishful thinking tourist, strongly misunderstanding it as if it was something more Satanic in nature, or they start calling themselves Pagans down the line.
I began life with a solid home, good support network, and a reliable, workable framework of rules and ethics. I even went to church xD
Then about the time I grew my boobies (age 11 ish) I ditched Xtianity bc I discovered what a load of misogyny gives those people power.
So when I turned to a new crowd with a different morality, it was difficult to live my life without losing myself to the nihilistic lawlessness that led the people around me. I'm a nice person... until somebody fucks with me lol. I've always preferred to be nice. But what is "nice" without a moral code to give said "niceness" meaning?
Wicca filled the void, gave me direction, and a better, more workable ecofeminism and code of ethics to apply to my parenting. The other Wiccans I met were nice, too.
And yes, I called myself a neopagan for awhile.
I misunderstood nothing. I had a proper teacher.
Unfortunately, my skepticism / pessimism (which is probably my worst personality trait) won in the end.
Nothing spiritual ever survives it for long.
I thought that too... but the direct answer's probably just going to have me ask the same question with even more context-driven mud to trudge through.
From my experiences with her, with my trying from asking questions of context... the sense of scale and accuracy gets more confusing instead of less from trying to gauge it from examples. Her answers about reality can change between blinks, while her sense of concept can be based off of more consistent source materials.
