The question is in the tittle. Do you think ending all the suffering of Humanity by killing them all with the touch of the button would be immoral or moral? Would you press the button or would you destroy the button? Why or why not?
Do you think the Fermi paradox is solved if we consider that all life in the universe became aware of itself, and eventually realized life was suffering and consequentially erased itself?
unlike many others on this forum - and despite my sentiment that's often confused with misanthropy - i have hope for the future of humanity, so no.
kind of a dumb question because even if i only saw suffering in the future with no possibility for significant progress at all, i wouldn't have to push a button. the species would just aid in its own destruction, like any civilization would do.
No. Out of misery and pain come the best of us. The world is filled with more love and hope than we could ever imagine. This overpowers the pain. The human race is stronger than we know. Wars happen, natural disasters, but we prevail. Eventually we will be better than ever.
The fuck? Why would you assume all people are suffering? Is your life crappy? No, I wouldn't push the button. It's not one individual's call to make. You are not God. Evolution will do it's thing.
