There's many aspects to art that can draw my interests, but one of my favorites is the story behind the artists themselves. Odd, extreme or just peculiar backgrounds that you can then see influence their works, so this is a thread about them.
Give an artists of any kind with a peculiar story and show an example of how that experience or circumstance shows through their work.
Friend of mine is an artist...really good too...her work is esoteric and unique in its effect as well as performance. So....her background was one of neglect though...and one my favorite pieces of her is a performance video that is viewed through a crack in the door, entitled Metamorphosis....and the video was of her dancing in sheets, but you cannot see her ...only her shadow....very cool effect.
Received her Master's of Art from the London School of Fine arts and since then....couch surfs for the most part it seems...a very fun lady.

XXXTENTACION aka Jahseh Onfroy is an artist I've taken interests in almost solely for his background. From the ghetto of southern florida, his typical style of music is oversaturated bass, grunge-rap(which is something I never thought I'd enjoy) but anyways his lyrics are full of what you would expect of a rapper. Violence. It's another thing however to see it.

He's got a couple of these online and he's fairly sadistic. I was listening to one of his songs, where his lyrics played out that he assaults with knives over guns. I wondered where he was at currently, go figure he's actually in jail for assault with a deadly weapon and robbery. I like XXXtentacion, simply because he shows what a real fucked up personality is and in some songs shows its cons.
