I had this comeback "Everything is about me to me and everything is about you to you. It's just how it is." Now I dissected it as a thought exercise.
World revolves around one. The person exists in this world 24/7 whereas others only exist through him/her during the time of interaction, therefore they aren't as permanent.
Death of another is identical to absence while being alive, so during the time one does not interact with some person, s/he is dead/none-existent.
One makes decisions that can make others exist more often as a consequence, e.g. sharing apt, marriage, etc.
Child is a creation of one, but, like other things, it is not permanent in one's world for the reasons, mentioned above.
Everything is based on the person for the said person, thus it's always about him/her.
Since one makes things and people exist through himself/herself, everything ceases to exist once one dies.
However, others are able to impact the life of one through competition, initiating friendship or making one change his/her course by other means.
Others have their own worlds and to them the one exists solely during the interaction despite we know that the one is in this world 24/7. This indicates that the world does not revolve around any specific individual and after one dies others keep existing.
[The acknowledgment of others is strengthened by emotional bonds and knowing what they do with their lives.]
Consequently, everything is not about one as it is not about anyone.
So, "Everything is about me to me and about you to you" should be changed into "I don't matter, neither do you", following the trail of thought.
Regardless, without one, world would not exist to him/her, so, despite the lack of meaning of one in general, s/he still is the main thing in the world. Thus, everything is about one (for the one).
