Today I was driving on a pretty busy road and I see this six year old kid on a bike, pedaling as fast as he can to cross six lanes of traffic. And I'm like wow this kid must have really shitty parents, this is a big city, he will get kidnapped and murdered.
Then he fell at a weird angle, and got tangled up in his bike- his neck was crunched oddly between the road and the bike. I knew the light was going to turn green any second and someone was probably going to run over him texting and driving or some shit.
So I ran the red light and got out of my car to pick up him and the bike, and I put him on the sidewalk. I told him to walk next to the bike when he crosses the road next time as I went back to my car. I had to get out of the way before the light changed.
Poor kid. I'm surprised no one else responded, they'd rather not risk getting hit and watch someones kid be road kill in their rear view mirror. I know what it's like to be bit by a truck, I know you don't feel a thing. So I wasn't too worried.
