... an illness that presents a little like MS, but after MRI they say it is not. Patient is someone I know who is stuck between specialists that keep referring her back and forth. I have a pretty good bio on her, although not everything.

Now that may be closer to reality than even you might wish to consider, amd metaphorically speaking that may appear as quite something else , and been practiced to death by the reads of it...
I have no problem privately giving my opinion when everyone involved is aware that it's purely an academic opinion (as opposed to a suggestion of any action/inaction). And, I might add, a severely limited opinion with no patient contact. I'm confident that Sensy knows I'd never suggest that I could confidently diagnose anything, not even the flu or a splinter, without patient contact. That would be unethical.
