play total recall or conan the barbarian, they are good films
I second all of these.
I'll also throw The Prestige, Training Day, and Fight Club into the mix.
Edit: Also Black Mirror (show with movie length episodes and completely separate plots), Primer, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, A Fantastic Fear of Everything, Frank, Trip to the Moon, Bronson, How to be a Serial Killer, The Perfect Host, Last Action Hero, Fatal Attraction, The Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Reservoir Dogs, Tropic Thunder, World's Greatest Dad, Network, Falling Down, Repo the Genetic Opera.

Holy shit every one except for turn coat has shit taste in movies. And turncoats taste is pretty shit.
I prefer to call it "ironic" when it comes to enjoying movies for being so shitty that it's gold. It has to be real shit too, not faux-shit like Sharknado 2.
I used to be pickier until I learned to appreciate movies for their individual elements instead of their broader picture, like watching Peter Pan XXX for the musical number where he sings about his shlong and the crazy story that follows as opposed to the actual porn (Axel Brawn's too into dick worship imo).
Shutter island.
Seconded.
Princess Mononoke.
Pretty much anything Miyazaki's a good bet, and that mention suddenly had me remember the trippy film Paprika.
Genius Party 1+2 could be good if we go at it from an intoxicated angle.
Edit: Throwing Who Framed Roger Rabbit out there. It's even better after having played/watched someone play Toonstruck from the implications made from having the same actor be in two different reality-clashes-with-cartoons settings. Toonstruck fits a little too well as a spiritual prequel.
I have a feeling you would like john Carpenter movies. I would go with the Thing or Escape from LA. Paprika is like a bad trip. I liked it. I mean your taste is still a bit shit but one thing you said earned my respect.
Mad Max Fury Road would be pretty good.
Off The Air would be a good choice if we could play the drugs angle.
Wolf On Wall Streets always good. Spring Breakers and Dead Pool along that line.
The Last Unicorn. Lol that movies is awesome. NOT A FUCKING B MOVIE.
