I understand the instinctive feeling that children are sacred and innocent in a way that adults are not. A child also cannot stand up to an adult, so the (im)balance of power makes the abuse that much more obvious to us. Despite this it often surprises me how easy it is for some people to dismiss the suffering of non-children (or value it far less), especially when pushed about it from an intellectual angle.
children didnt have the time to build themselves strong and to have a choice.
adults can prepare, physically and mentally, for things in life. a child doesn't even have that option.
an adult has already lived and created things, had good memories, maybe used some of his potential.
a child can lose its entire future, all of its potential and miss on many things in life.

A more fragile person (be it child or adult) suffer more than a stronger person. I'm not arguing against that. But given that, does a raped child suffer that much more than an adult being tortured? I don't think the answer is obvious, but a lot of people seem to.
Also, why does future potential matter? Do I suffer more if my potential is reduced?
What in your opinion is a more fragile person....this is a funny term...Raped children are going to suffer more, both mentally and physically...check the research. Also the relationship to the child will cause many problems. Tortured....? Some very fcked up people out there...I rather doubt the victim is going to be doing well for many years...if ever.

Either Gerard have some kind of retardation which makes him too imature fo his age, therefore, his convos and his understanding about life it's the same as a 15 years old boy. OR, he is just a pedo. As for Future potential, children and adults are just the same to fall into depression, experience ptsd, severe trauma and have personality changes. The only difference im really seeing is that children have more value place upon them.
They will live longer and have much longer to bugger up the lives of others and their own if they cannot come to terms with what happened to them

Yesterday friend of mine came over and was talking to me about a documentary of pedophile priests....pretty outrageous what was done to the kids...and the cover up that was involved. Turns out, one of the boys( later a drug addict/ alcoholic and what not) found the priest that abused him....and went off....the priest committed suicide as a result of the guilt and shame. Similar occurs when pedos are being outed publicly....why? Because they are completely aware of what they are doing and how it harms kids....and don't tell me or even attempt to suggest that the bs that Jim pulls here and showboats is without awareness....everyone becomes equally complicit and fked up by being being too "afraid" to say anything about it....based on what precisely? Some retarded concept of 'bad ass sociopathy'.? How fked up that is....is riotous from my perspective..
