If you had a chance at someone writing you as a story book character, and you got to choose which of your characteristics and looks will be enhanced and which will be eliminated, what would you choose?
Write something about a young guy with an unhealthy ambition for all the wrong reasons, who spends a good deal of his life handling things headfirst until he runs into the wall of life. With a heavy heart, a black and blue ego as well as a fit of stifling depression he reluctantly comes to terms with his inferiority and the process changes him. His standards lower, he realizes his mortality and is less critical of himself. Sure, he's content with life and has genuinely found peace easier to obtain but the lack of that old fire is making him miss more and more opportunities he would've charged into earlier in life.
This starts to unsettle him internally, slowly eating at him until he regains his old drive through sheer frustration only to realize it's too late to change anything and the doors of opportunity that he had regretfully neglected have long been shut. Without anymore purpose or direction, he becomes consumed with the prospect of finding someone worthy of his efforts and in his desperation he finds an unsuitable relationship he makes work. He knows the relationship isn't well off or meant to be long lasting, but that's the point. Selflessly devoting himself to a destructive person(possibly a child? adoption?) with the end goal of hurting himself his entire life over the mistake of letting that ambitious fire fade.
He lives the remainder of his days in an emotionally masochistic state in order to repent for acts he can never forgive himself for. He robbed himself of his future, he is at fault and he spirals down a hole of self blaming/guilt. With the same ambition he once had, he tears himself down in acts of atonement and it's only these moments that he finds brief/fleeting instances of true solace.
Possible endings would be suicide if the cycle continues, or he happens to stumble upon another cause he finds worthy enough of zealous, masochistic devotion.

Increased motivation and decreased emotional bluntness.
Adapt me to the times the story takes part while keeping as much of me as possible without causing any story flaws, e.g. if the story takes part in Middle Ages, my feature of spending time interacting in SC should be vanquished and abilities that suit the character enhanced (sword fighting if I'm a knight, carpeting if a carpenter, etc.).
