For as long as I can remember I have had a print of Hieronymous Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights in my bedroom. It’s a triptych (in three parts). I believe that is, Heaven, Earth and Purgatory. Would you believe me if I told you it was handed off to me from my parents, a gift from my father to my mother?
In my salad days, I viewed the middle part (Earth) as one, great orgy. Of course it looks like it could be doesn’t it? Some said it was commissioned as a warning against damnable sin. In the interest of keeping this brief, I’ll let you look at Hiero yo’self.
I pair it with a panoramic photograph I took at a festival where I saw nearly the same thing. A girl looks like she might be taking her dress off over her head. That moment unexpected and now forever etched hangs above my bed.
I believe Hieronymous Bosch (and really Danae by Klimt, another gift) are my mark.
What art do you, would you collect, describe your boudoir.
