this seems like a serious post, so i will answer with my simple serious words
i can only relate what works for me
your life experiences and genetics made you what you are today. you cant change either one. you can only look to and change the future.
i think being happy is better than being depressed or sad. i like to find what makes me happy and i keep doing it.
as far as getting better, brain chemistry drugs may help for some, but in my case I have no hope of getting "better", so i dont try. i work on the happy part.
