Feeling Empty

Empty is a temporary impasse in decision making, when being nothing is preferable to x situation or when you're deeply affected by a failure/mistake/loss.

Hunger is everyday, every minutes of non-emptyness. it's the force that drive you forward, that pushes you to seek out more and more to feed your insatiable ego.

I think emptyness is just how we, who haven't been gifted with deep complex feelings, experience depression. Just as fleeting as any other emotions we feel.

Mir's description is a good clarification of my wordiness. Though I would add in that empty can be felt after a significant accomplishment and no rush is provided.

I'm curious what part of my response was inaccurate or that you took offence to ?

I'm uncertain as to why you think I took offense, as I did not. I was only making the statement that constant emptiness would appear to have other, more severe ramifications and provided a potential explanation as to what the reference to "feeling empty" versus "being empty" was. What portion of the response do you equate with offense?

Both states are a state of emptyness experienced differently. When hungry ot is NEVER enough and you actively seek more and more but never feeling full. Like having a 'slightly filled stomach' permanently. When in the state of emptyness it's a sort of nihilistic nothing matters you don't exist and whatever you do to try and change this fact is pointless, like accepting one's perceived inevitable starvation.

Does that make sense?

After reading the thread, the best i can say i feel like that is being bored, but i see its not that either.

Most of the time i feel nothing. I do not feel empty. I just don't feel anything i can point at. But i think its my emotional disconnection/dissociation. I am just floating about, real life is not part of my internal state.

The most meaningful purpose in life is to find if the purpose of life exists and what it is. Like stoicism.
However, thats more like a goal that i have decided is my duty to follow. But its not what i feel like doing, so its a secondary goal.

In reality, life just is. Life is life. It's a thing, that exists. There is nothing good or bad about it. It doesn't need a purpose and you do not need to feel good or bad about that. It's just an entity, an object. Do whatever you want. The only thing i feel is honestly stupid is suicide. That robs you of life and you will be robbed of life eventually anyway, its just so extremely pointless.

" I would add in that empty can be felt after a significant accomplishment and no rush is provided."

Disappointment? Couldn't be. Disappointment is a feeling. Like a faint mix of sadness on top of mild annoyance, sometimes with a side of envy (yeah my emotions are probably a little more intense than the average person's.)

You mean you do stuff and get no thrill or satisfaction from it?

I think most of us experience this.

I think I know what you mean. I see it online all the time.

People who experience emotions enjoy them and are mildly freaked out by the thought of not feeling. Imagine waking up unable to taste your food. They think empty=damaged and that the empty person should actively be searching for a way to repair him/herself.

Also, it seems from what you describe, that your flat affect has you confusing tickled with euphoric.

I'm not finished reading, tho. What I've read so far may be incomplete in the extreme.

There's so many words being used here to attempt to express that Emptiness is Numbness.
