I think innocence can appear as...

 1. A lack of profound knowledge or at least a lack of an impulse to indulge in on taboo ish matters.

I know people say I'm innocent for never having had a drink until this year. I know people say I'm innocent for never having done drugs. I know people say I'm innocent for never having made out or kiss at all. I know people say I'm innocent when I don't know the meaning of some swear words.

2.  A child like style.

A child is considered pretty innocent and maybe it's because of their stereotypical lack of knowledge in hardships and taboo ish issues. It is assumed that without knowledge of bad they will do no bad I guess.

I look pretty young. I get mistaken for maybe fifteen or thirteen. I am short. I have childish halloween costumes such as unicorns.

I know my voice sounds pretty childish. I was in a play saying my lines when this girl I barely know interjects to say I sound so innocent and sweet. I worry my voice is annoying because I sound so childish. It's not necessarily cute considering I'm an adult. I know some people say the words I use seem child like.

Such as...

"Okii", "I'm sleepy", ":3", "^.^", "Hiii", "Aborbs", "Cute,"...

A real definition of innocence is more like refraining from committing evil acts or indulging in criminal or even taboo behavior.

Agree with you on that. Appear vs be weighed down by guilt, perhaps?

Where there is not guilt to muddy the mind's eye of the self, there is nothing to cloud the experience of existence? Maybe?

That is an open question with regards to Evil Acts, but the intent is not.

Criminal acts are another gray zone. However the intent of the law is another. It's can be a question of degree and the act. ( they gray zone of chaos..lol)

Taboo, is whatever you perceive as taboo IMO. Have read some interesting flailings about Taboo. The draw/ attraction to taboo as some form of rebellion. Which is vulgar to say the least, and more often than not mental illness driven.

"Okii", "I'm sleepy", ":3", "^.^", "Hiii", "Aborbs", "Cute,"...

'Totes'...a lovely young lady taught me that one..lol...;)

A few weeks ago while I was at a local coffee shop with a few friends. We were in a corner booth conversing  . A little later a group of guy came in and sat down near us. The Alpha of the group caught my eye. Minutes later I couldn't help but introduce myself to him. I walked over and sat across from him. I mirrored his posture and said "hi". In return he said "hey". "What's your name?" I ask politely. He replied by telling me  his name was Frank. I observed as he checked me out. I told him my name was Elizabeth and that I'd "see him around" I then returned to our table, continuing to chat.

2 weeks later I got a message from him requesting I come to his house to hangout. I was well aware of what his intentions were. I agreed and went over.

By the end of our visit he told me how confused he was. That I looked really "innocent" when he first saw me. I had this feeling of satisfaction. It was beautiful to me.

He now hates me but I am okay with that.

Interesting turn of events, and the change in his demeanor towards you.

"Innocence" seems to cling like a mesmerizing scent to some. Same has happened many times in my time ..lol...Last week, friend of mine, we go out and about, coffee, dinner, he is married, I am not. His relationship is one of trust with his wife of many years. He said that to me. ' You keep your innocence' with a rather odd look on his face. No lines ever crossed in our friendship.

Couple weeks earlier, he had thanked me for explaining him Respect for his wife. He seems happier as of late, and I enjoy his company as always.

Define innocence? The essence, perhaps rests in the intent. Unknown.

I would define innocence as a demeanour, airiness, and the thought that one can do no wrong.

'the thought' is the error...lol...as that is based on the perception of another. Grandiosity more often than not is stupidity flouncing about in denial to no one but themselves.

In The Quiet American "innocence" is synonymous with ignorance, but does not mean the individual isn't involved in an immoral act.
When is an act immoral, and by whose definition? Absolute Truth resides with the recipient of their own perceptions ( distortions inclusive of). And that can cause many problems.
'Ignorance of the law is no excuse' ...even when it is a mitigating fact.

In the Realm of Absolute Bullshit....lol...don't stand downwind of the fan.,..

Inaction is one of the greatest adversary to the human race.
