As long as you are ok with knowing that he will never love you the way you love him, sees you as an object to advance his agenda (whatever that might be), and will always put himself and his own interests before you and your well-being, I don't see a problem with it.

Pretty much this, if you deserve his loyalty, he will be loyal to you as long as it is in his best interest. Anybody suggesting otherwise is ignorant.

He has been in to A & E five or six times over the last 12 months. He is diabetic and has been injecting himself with insulin, knowing that I will save him.
