Earliest Memory...

Just curious about peoples very first memory.

Mine: (According to my mother I was just shy of two years old, but shes also full of shit more often than not so I really can't tell you how old I was)

I was in a crib and somehow had a quarter (I only know its a quarter because I was told it was a quarter when I asked when I got older) I choked on it, and I remember my mother walking towards me, and then poking her finger down my throat. It's not really a moving memory, more all fragmented and jerkyish, hard to describe. I don't remember any emotions, maybe I wasn't old enough to recognize anything or maybe they just faded. I'm sure I probably wanted to cry. I do remember the pain in my throat from the quarter, the pain in my face from her squeezing my cheeks, and also not being able to breathe. That's it.

I do not know my earliest memory... I mean I have seen videos of myself and heard stories.

I remember my first best friend was named Hailey. I would play marbles with her. I would throw peas with her at lunch time in the cafeteria. I gave her a real gold necklace that belonged to me. I went to the circus with her for the first time on my birthday. I remember the circus smells bad. I planted my face in the cake because I had always wanted to plant my face in a cake. I moved away from her because my parents moved a lot for work when I was young. I would ask around everywhere I moved for about a year if anyone knows someone named Hailey. I asked the restaurants, I asked the schools, I asked the stores, I asked the churches, I asked day cares... I did not know her last name so there were some people who said they know someone with the name. I could tell it was not her when I look at them. I remember her face by heart. I got let down every time. I eventually came to terms with the fact I will never meet her ever again. I doubt she would even remember me.

I thought I would find her again because I was a stupid child... I was a stupid child who thought one day she would reunite with her first friend in this big world. I will only ever find her in my memory.

The gift is adorable, I had a glowworm <3

The idea of Santa scared me too, I wonder why parents think we should just insta love the man...and, I can legit see why it was kinda traumatizing, minus the gifts it almost sounds like you woke up to a press conference 0_0

My earliest memory was videoed so I'm not sure if I remember it or I remember the video. Memories are only as valid as the last time you recalled them, however, so I guess it doesn't matter.

It was a Christmas morning and I lived with my parents and grandparents. They had my little gifts set out and kept saying "look what Santa brought!"  but I just wanted to sleep. This was when camcorders needed huge lights on them so it was sort of traumatic at the time combined with the idea that some random man came in and gave me things when I'd been taught to not trust strangers.

This was my favorite gift: a popple

Eh

The earliest memory I have- well, when I asked about it i was told it was not possible for me to "remember" that because I had not been born yet. I was told yes, it did happen and that it was described as if I had been there but again it would have been impossible for me to remember something I wasn't even present for.

I don't recall how old I was. I remember that I had these black and white shoes that I put on myself. My mother's boyfriend was telling me that they were on the wrong feet but didn't explain how or why. I was irritated at being told I was wrong and not given input on how to do it right. That's all that really stands out to me about the memory.

I just pictured a very tiny cricket looking up at this big giant grown up guy and giving him a dirty look for being retarded lol
