Google snakes their client spotify

Google's market share of the cloud space is quite small especially compared to legacy players (microsoft IBM etc etc) and AWS (Amazon Web Services). Now having high profile client such as spotify using their cloud service is extremely powerful, especially if they're pushing the niche of being the best at data analytics.

Google home is a total snake move and a bad one at that. Long term they're not going to be able to make an apple music, they're too late in the game, they need to partner with someone relevant or acquiree someone if they want to use the android platform as an edge for their music service.

Intel and the other hardware makers are not really alone in the sense that they have enough sway so that they alone can tip the balance, nor would they want android or apple to disappear. Leting ones of the providers get monopoly would not only incite anti-trust regulations but it would totally destroy their pricing power.

Google doesn't need to be cool or have a real music streaming niche, the niche is that the app can ship with every single android phone or that the software can push it onto the users, now acknowledging that competitive edge is important but google still needs a service that can match up.

Well for the beginning, I'm giving you 5 stars for replying without name-calling and getting emotional in an argument this time, I'm proud of you candy-chan. And second, a company like Intel doesn't have to necessarily turn the rival of a company into a monopoly to cause serious losses to another, just offer a better price to the other company enabling them to sell for cheaper and snatch a good portion of their marketshare temporarily. Since poodroid is the phone of the poorfag and bought by the majority of smartphone users I'm sure if google pushed something it would become the most used music streaming product tho

Google is in a place where they can afford to eat the small fish and risk breaking the rod for it too. It could also team up with other services (tidal is booming due to stubborn people like kanye and beyonce right now) something with an actual risk is to snake the bigger companies which could result in lawsuits and nasty partnerships contra google (just imagine what would happen if Intel took Apple's side in smartphones for example and pushed for pushed poodroid to disappear). Do you side with spotify here?

Hardware makers have no interest in giving away too much pricing power to one or the other AAPL is already strong in this industry and the makers of android phones are very diverse so Google has no real vested interest in what they do.

Google is however playing catchup with AAPL in terms of the music streaming and cloud services, the problem is that many of their cloud clients already offer these kinds of services. The real question is how and to what degree google is going to leverage their android OS to push their service and to what degree the response from companies like spotify is going to be. Spotify is valued at around 8.4 billion so an acquisition of it by Google is not out of the question. However from what I can tell they're not that integrated into android so right now I don't really see that as a possibility.
