Magic mushrooms 'promising' in depression

Only if you have a positive trip. Oddly enough in the worst of times, I find my trips to be positive eye opening experiences, but that is definitely not the same for everybody.

In my 2 time use with them I felt extremely depressed as an after effect. Turncoat and Crow can both vouch for the immiediate high, in which I tried to explain there was a galactic spider trying to eat me as well as cockroaches trying to disguise themselves as people out to get me. Later it just made me question every single factor about myself subconsciously. Maybe I have more negative traits than positive, but all I could think of was "why am I doing this", "why do I care" and just being in a headspace that made everything seem redundant or pointless

Wow. I don't think you should take it too deep. It is like a dream. It does not show reality. I had a dream I threatened to kill someone and woke up crying. I think it just influences your mind and conjures up random shit...

Interesting.  I know there is a lot more "tolerance" of psychedelic research going on.  I'm certainly an advocate for this...  I hope more research is done and shared, reaching mainstream acceptance.

They have also shown to be promising helping terminally ill patients come to terms with knowing their lives would end soon.

Ketamine has also long been known to have fast-acting antidepressive effects.

Definitely not; I had quite a few insights on psychedelics. They are not like dreams, they're more like an extreme alteration of your consciousness at a fundamental level. There really is nothing within the realm of ordinary experience comparable to taking a psychedelic.

I have not tried them so I guess I assumed it is similar to like a dream or day dream. I know dreams feel real at the moment.
