I have little to no idea about my racial ancestry. One of my parents was adopted while the other only really knows one half of the family line. This gives me room to find 1/4 of it at best, and even that 1/4 is a bunch of maybe's.
Every time I've asked about it it's inconclusive paired with some guesswork. The adopted parent's been against seeing her ancestry until somewhat recently, but still hasn't explored it at all.

23andme.com is interesting for ancestry and stuff. it is not as specific as it could be right now but hopefully will get better w time.
Sweet jesus that's $200 for something I don't need to know that badly.
For cheaper methods, I don't even know what last name to look up for the adopted one.
The land of the criminal - Australia. There's also English and Scottish in my ancestry (or Irish, I can't remember which. Maybe both). I have some family in the US as well.
Some of my ancestors from England were criminals who were shipped to Australia.
I have criminal blood that goes back a long way.
It would be kinda cool if I found out I was related to Jack The Ripper. No-one really knows who he was though, so I'll never know.
My maternal grandmother was all British and Irish. According to mom, we're related to pirates. Fucked if I could find anybody named Sea Wolf on wiki, tho. My grandfather was Scottish Metis (northern Cree.) Apparently there were also Russians and Swedes a few centuries back on Grandpa's side.
My dad's family is mostly British and Scottish as well, with some Ojibwe in the mix. Not sure how far back I'd have to go to find somebody with status. Great-grandparents at least.
