You say windows 7 and they install a WIN7x86. I would blow it away and clean install.

I compared your processor with mine and they're just about the same when clocked at the same speeds.

in the process of hdparm'ing it on linux (secure wiping with hoffman pattern to make deleted data unrecoverable, factory reset) and installing Win64. Desktop, put it together for 350$, 8gb ram 1 tb hdd the i7 was second hand from some sucker that I convinced the processor is outdated
