Was there anything besides Luna's wanting a new site that spawned the move to this place? Talk of the movement started before I joined, so I'm a bit at a loss.

That's why I suggested 1.0 as a temporary solution.  We've been moved before, and as TC said, it never took long.  I don't foresee this being more than an entertaining inconvenience.

Didn't she delete a bunch of threads in SC 1.0  and then tried to cover it up by altering the post count?

Is this a thing that's gonna happen again?

The change in code was a choice, but our moving here was from her being unable to contact Hellotech when we began having issues with our chat.

She was working on this code at her own pace before, but the move gave her a reason to speed things up.

There's been multiple waves of thread and post deletions in the past, but that was ages ago.

The post count thing was related to how the website calculated your post count. How it displayed on the main page was your number of posts you've ever made, while the post count within your profile page displayed how many still exist on the forum. This let us do some basic subtraction to see how much that we'd lost.

A while back, a topic I made to ask how many people's posts were missing was one of the ones deleted, but that's the closest I can think of there being any sort of "cover up" beyond working under the cover of darkness.

Hopefully not, now that people are expecting it.  She relies on doing this shit while no one is looking.
