I wonder if diabetes makes you an idiot. I keep my friend for nostalgic reasons. He used to be a nice friend. These days he is a complete moron in almost every sense. I guess the brain doesn't particularly benefits from diabetes. He was quite clever but these days he is a retard. I mean seriously he couldn't do simple math if you asked him.

He's been diabetic for ages, has bad neuropathy in his legs. I think his foot issues came quite long before the development with bone infection, the Charcot definitely came before that and this was just the last thing to happen. He also had cellulitis and MRSA prior to this, don't know if it is related.

I think he simply wants others to take care of him plus deep denial. He always says his health issues aren't "that bad". LOL.

Diabetes can cause vascular dementia. Wouldn't raise that with him, though XD

Funnily enough, people don't like being told that they're demented. 

Sounds a lot like many of the diabetic gentlemen I meet.

I had one patient who used to walk around barefoot on a farm with uncontrolled diabetes. That's my worst nightmare XD
