So if one teen's birthday is today and he/she turned 16, and another teen's sixteenth birthday is tomorrow, there would be a huge difference between the minds of those two teens? I'm glad that ageism is a thing. That makes me happy.

Kind of a catch 22 isn't it? The rules give sites their focus and sense of community.

Without rules a forum becomes an unreadable mess of spamtards and douchebags.

Well, there is the no spamming rule but only idiots spam anyway.

Nah, I was more curious how the forum would respond to it if a poll was thrown out. This is not the usual system for dealing with this, but it's also been a rather long time since this site had to face being spammed, so I figured that I'd not be quite as quick with the ban hammer and would instead watch user responses related to the issue. It was more meant to measure what sort of page the user base is on about banning in general. If the forum was thirsting for a ban, I'd figure that that'd be the symptom of another issue that I'd need to question and address.

I expected the tally to be stronger towards warning with the reasons for banning being unrelated based on the nature of this place (save for the OP at least), and would have been honestly surprised if it went differently. Spoilers and age are both not factors of the rules, so naturally I'm not taking those points seriously.

It was a way to gather a consensus and give a chance to rally others, see what page the forum users are on, and gather more info in case I wasn't seeing something about FMI that's worth addressing, such as other examples of spam I overlooked. I'm glad that the reasons for bans were petty and that everyone else went "Meh", as otherwise it'd not be the forum I've grown to expect.

I'd say that this is enough of a reminder to not need to be as lenient with others if they choose to spam after this point.

TLDR: FMI had spammed but it'd been a while and the display seemed harmless, so I used her as a figurehead/lure to poll about the sensitivity of this forum as it stands now.
