What sort of bad news are you meaning?

I was just about to log out but I decided to offer my two cents,just tell them,I know its going to be hard because of the expected/unexpected reactions but you have to understand There's really nothing much you can do about it.Sorry for whatever happened btw.

Literally just say it to their face, don't pussy out

If it was myself with cancer, I'd try not to tell anybody. The last thing I'd want in my life is a bunch of people pitying me before I expire.

If it's someone else's problem, it'd depend strongly on their individual context. I'd likely err on the side of telling them sooner than later, since time tends to add more drama.
