i don't get this shit
if someone wants to die, then why wouldn't they just go ahead and kill themselves and end their shitty life, rather than calling some faggot sitting in front of a phone in some windowless room on the other side of the country that has nothing better to do with their life than listen to the words of people who have literally nothing left but this call?? why don't they just DIE?? why would you want to prolong your life any longer if you've decided that it's shit enough to commit suicide??
the whole concept of suicide hotlines implies that the suicidal person will, when in this situation, be contemplating suicide, but somehow at the same time be impelled to call someone who will attempt to talk them into NOT killing themselves, which completely contradicts.. i just don't get it lol.
it's like saying that the person has two parts of themselves, the part that wants to die and the part that doesn't, which makes about as much sense as when my therapist used to ask me 'do you fear yourself', because why would i fear the person that is literally the only person in the world that i can trust??
maybe sometime i'll call one of them just for fun. i don't know what i would say but i guess i could just make some shit up lol
