What's the reaction of psychologists or your family?

I wonder if there's any sociopaths who are diagnosed by a professional, How do psychologists react, what's their attitude like? Should i go to one? And if i will be diagnosed as a socio, should i tell my family

Problem is, why would you be honest if you knew the person? Makes it more difficult I believe as it can get more nasty or you simply lie. And also, Reaper has got a  point. Shrinks (if competent enough) who would be able to diagnose you correctly don`t have to keep quiet if they think you might pose a danger to others (or yourself). So they can basically do whatever the hell they want, they are not to be trusted. And once you are diagnosed there is no going back and it will do you no good.

Self-diagnosis is the only way no one else will be involved, however always subjective and incomplete, so that different tests have to be considered and even then it is not based on profound and specific knowledge.

So there isnt really much you can do without involving individuals unless you just dont care

"Well if i have it i will spend my whole time to find someone who can understand so it will be easier if i would be honest with it."

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by that.

Do you mean you'll find a therapist who you can be honest with, or someone who you can be honest with in a friendship or relationship?

"Self-diagnosis is the only way"

No, it's not, because people often misdiagnose when self-diagnosing and it doesn't serve any beneficial purpose to do so.

Why stamp yourself with a label like a can of beans.

You won't get diagnosed as a sociopath because you can't. That label isn't used anymore.

If you have Antisocial Personality Disorder, then that is what you would get diagnosed with.

I personally would avoid getting diagnosed if I were you because the label is useless. It won't benefit you in any way. Believe me, I know.

If you do happen to get diagnosed, I really don't see why you would want your family to know. The less they know, the easier they are to take advantage of and manipulate.

Sorry for misusing the word. My vocabulary isn't strong enough. I am not sure that i have ASPD yet. (Like i explained in this thread: sociopath-community.com/posts/5636c29440880a3332efe8db) Well if i have it i will spend my whole time to find someone who can understand so it will be easier if i would be honest with it.

That doesn't change anything. There is no point in self-diagnosing, whether you do it accurately or not.

What do you expect to get out of it?

What you will get is a useless fucking label and nothing else.

So, you'd rather be honest with someone than keep them in the dark and use them? Why?

I dont know. I had relationships and i just didn't care about them. if i let them know how i see the world, maybe i will care, maybe it will feel different who knows.

Reaper you have to read from the context. I said, its the only way if no other individual should get involved. And I also mentioned the shortcomings of self-diagnosis
