What are some tips for avoiding triggering serial killers I see in public? I know not all of them have the same triggers, but what are general things?

I already know to do that first suggestion for not only serial killers, but people that want to con you or ruin you for fun.

The second one I haven't thought of. I have done lots of reading on what serial killers are likely to be like but, for some reason, never really got used to looking for those characteristics in the real world. Then again, some of them may be more cautious and try to avoid displaying the most popular tropes, especially if they're smarter than the average bear or they're trying to "seduce".

EDIT: No, just strangers that may be serial killers.

I don't see someone giving me bad advice because no one on this site would benefit directly from me looking vulnerable to a serial killer. What are they gonna do? Notice I've been gone for a while and say "got em" when they guess I rubbed a sociopath the wrong way because of their suggestions? Even if there is a serial killer on this forum that wants to give me advice, the odds of them actually meeting and getting to kill me are too low for the amount of effort.

To not stand out as a victim in general, to not be weak or daft or in any way stick out from the crowd, don't get noticed or unnoticed...

The thing is they can be profiling their victims after so much. Like, say that they are looking to kill people that ressemble their mother. Which is only one of thousand of different reasons. Then they'd look for a phrase their mother used, or body language, or looks - nothing you could avoid without knowing about it.

They could look for a type of character, say someone that is not getting noticed in a crowd, a "ghost", or the cheerleader type, or the generally popular people, charismatic, loud, silent, a certain haircolor, hairstyle, make up, jewleries... Anything really.

... on a second thought, you could probably profile which people is most likely to become serial killer, so just don't act like their bullies (family members, high school students, those who most likely attacked or insult them etc). And yeah, don't insult them.

What serial killers are you seeing in public?  Are they actual suspects or just suspicious-looking?

Missy's advice isn't bad.  However, it goes without saying that you shouldn't trust everything you learn here.  Perhaps there are individuals among the advice-givers that might wish to give you faulty advice which makes you more vulnerable and visible.

I was thinking more in terms of how to not catch a sk's eye or become a target at all, since taking general precautions isn't full proof. Sometimes even hinting towards the idea I think they may be dangerous may trigger them even more.

The reason why many serial killers are not identified after 3, 4, 5, or more killings is because they appear as ordinary (sometimes exemplary) citizens. The personalities and predilections of serial killers occupy a spectrum wider than the one between Larry King and Donald Trump. Some such as the Green River Killer are described by co-workers as overly-friendly and odd. Others, such as B.T.K., are extroverted, and prominent members of their community. Yet others like Ed Kemper appear as ordinary guys with a shy side. Good luck trying to identify a serial killer in public—chances are that his or her own family harbors no suspicions.

Since the modi operandi of serial killers are so varied, you can never know that you won't trigger one simply by appearing as you do, or by being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Your best chance (in my opinion) to avoid "triggering" a serial killer would seem to be to not appear as prey.

"The [subjects] completed the Self-Report Psychopathy Scale: Version III, which measures interpersonal and affective traits associated with psychopathy as well as intra-personal instability and antisocial traits... Overall results confirmed a strong positive correlation between psychopathy scores and accuracy of victim identification. This means that individuals that score higher for psychopathy are better at selecting victims.

And what was it about these people that made them seem vulnerable? A later study found that the men were picking up on whole suite of nonverbal cues, including the length of their stride, how they shifted their weight, and how high they lifted their feet. Taken together, these cues gave the psychopathic men a rough gauge of how confident their potential victims were body language that implies a lack of confidence --- read: socially submissive --- includes lack of eye contact, fidgeting of the hands and feet, and the avoidance of large gestures when shifting posture." (Source)

Exercising a manner of body language may help prevent you from becoming a victim...but bear in mind that your gait may not make a difference if you are the serial killer's "type." Attempting to avoid triggering these people seems rather implausible, given their manifold "tastes" as a group. My recommendation is to exercise good judgment about your safety in public. If you do not carry pepper spray, I would suggest you start doing that. Given how many different types of predators there are, I recommend pepper spray and a self-defense class.

If he target people like you, everytime?, strong, weak, tall, short, alien, etc..
You are already a target if he knows about you and how to find you, but anything he does, is not gonna do it in public, avoiding to get caught.

Talking about a SK, what is the story telling us everytime?. Well try avoid that scenario.

And if you die and he get caught
At least is a 50% win

take it or leave it, your choice.
