Are you suggesting that there's no value in resisting "evil"?  Perhaps you also believe the life you live today is equal to the life you'd live if you'd been born a Jewish person in Germany during the reign of Hitler?

You're still missing the point.

Change in a personality never comes from without, only the appearances do.

Then again, isn't practicing appearances the real change?

He was controlled by his sociopathic tendencies until he went to jail.  His cellmate was a christian, and in his attempts to prove the cellmate wrong, he ended up adopting the religion and changed into someone who no longer gives in to their sociopathic urges.

I'm not talking about resisting "evil". Evil is a banal thing and easy to overcome, once you recognize it.

It's more of a distinction between the right and wrong and the reasons behind the choices.

As to the 'Jewish Question', I suggest you consider the fact that the Jews in ghettos were forced to 'cannibalize' themselves.

I have to admit there are when I feel like it's getting there. But that's besides the point. I think changes in personality can be spurred to happen by external phenomena. For sure, we are what we've been through. Even if our personalities change from within, those changes within can usually be traced to outside influences.
