Oswald the Octopus, the beloved children's TV series, is based off of the life of Lee Harvey Oswald. It was designed by multiple different organizations trying to get the American people to see the truth about the slaying of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy. While JFK was in the navy it is reported that his boat sank and that he swam back and forth carrying surviviors of the crash on his back for miles to the safety of an island nearby. The truth is that he actually had the help of multiple Japanese Octopi in the area who were against the Japanese regime due to its horrible actions against the ocean. For this he owed them a favor, one that would cost them his life. 

While running for presidency he refused to take a critical stance on the treatment of our oceans, which made the octopi feel like they had saved his life only for theirs to be ended by him. They sent their best agent, Lee H. Oswald, to talk to Kennedy and convince him to change his mind. Lee took this into his own hands. He married a Russian woman and began to integrate himself into the society of the humans. This is largely what the TV show is based off of: his attempt to blend in with the society that he had been sent to take down. 

When Kennedy refused multiple offers, it was decided that he needed to die. Using all eight arms Oswald fired on him from multiple positions and angles, this being why even to this day no one can really confirm where the bulet was fired from! They were thinking of the anatomy of a human, not a highly trained Octopus Operative. 

They then talked with president Nixon..And lets just say he was a lot more accomodating due to the death of JFK. Ever wonder why it was called WATERgate?...
