Have you ever had an existential crisis?  If so, what was the nature of it?  Did you ever resolve it?

I meant your own existential crises...

I have not seen that movie.  Maybe in the future.  Are there any specifics to what triggers an acute "existential seizure?"  Any specific subjects or experiences?

Their sense of what life is needs to be hit with a harsh enough clash to cause them to attempt to re-evaluate it.

Oh.

Well, episodes definitely remind me that it's something worth questioning, but it's closer to there being no limit to how much acceptance is needed to stop asking about life. From starting when I did it's sort of become an aspect of my identity.

The "life and death" thing has been brought up a few times. My grandmother died after I met her once with her passing shortly after, something that didn't have me mourn for her so much as mourn for my own apparent mortality. I spent a lot of sleepless nights fixated obsessively over it until I got over that aspect, but after that the tendency to question existence turned towards everything else. Pairing that with shaky ground at best to stand on leaves me somewhat questioning when I wouldn't be in a crisis of some sort beyond times that I'm distracted from it.

At best I've reduced the severity of the "crisis".

Questioning the nature of life and death when I was five pretty much had me stuck in one. The real question tends to be over how severe one is at any given time. My disorders don't exactly give much of a grounded sense when it comes to what is or isn't real or important at points, so that tends to push it a bit as well.

On another note, did you ever see I ♥ Huckabees?

Well, thank you for your answers and insights, Turncoat.  It might be a little illuminating from the low response and interest of this topic that this place isn't big on existential dilemmas.  Is this characteristic of certain disorders?  Existential crises might indicate a more self-reflective nature, along with sufferers of depression.

"Do you feel that there doesn't seem to be enough consideration "out there" around you and your life for these things?"
The answer's the sort you're more likely to find within yourself. The use of others serves to find similarities that can serve as guidelines, but a crisis of that sort is really more about who you are relative to the rest of existence. While we're all insignificant in the grand scheme, that's hard to accept from also all carrying the delusion that we are the protagonist. The clash comes from the realization that we're nothing butting heads with feeling like we matter more than anything else.

I'd argue that there's plenty of resources as long as there's people to talk to that don't all reflect a single world view. From my time getting to know people through being a bit of a crazy person magnet, this has given me all sorts of room to question existence through the sheer variation in answers.

"Are these crises something more like an affliction than a state of mind to you? How seriously are these existential issues taken by you?"
That really depends on their severity. Sometimes it's "eh" while at other points it's obsessive, all consuming to the point of distracting me from other things. It usually depends on how close to or how recently I've had a schizophrenic response, seeing as such times involve me having to break down quite a bit of delusion to sort out what ought to make sense versus what simply feels like it does.

No matter how much I question though, Nihilism seems to be the most sensible answer. It however may seem sensible to me from being an easy answer.
